Board of Directors
THE BOARD OF DIRECTORS is the governing body SCPASCC that helps to keep the organization on track by providing vision, raising money, giving advice and advocating on behalf of organization and is a vital link to the community. The Board functions on the basis of its constitution and bylaws. Each Board member serves a three (3) year term. However, a board member may be asked to extend their term pending a need at the time with approval of the full Board. The maximum number of members is 15. The Board is governed by Roberts’s Rules of Order and has adopted the Carver Model of governance. The Board has elected officers and standing committee chairs appointed by the Board president.
Dr. Gwendolyn Poles
SCPASCC Board President
Gwendolyn Poles, D.O. is a retired osteopathic physician who has served the greater Harrisburg community in a variety of capacities. Most recently she was a faculty member of PinnacleHealth System’s Department of Internal Medicine Residency Program through which she provided education, leadership and guidance to residents, mid-level practitioners, and staff in the in-patient and out-patient settings.
Prior to becoming a full-time faculty member and Medical Director at Pinnacle’s Kline Health Center in March 2006, Dr. Poles was Medical Director in the Office of Medical Assistance Programs, Pennsylvania Department of Public Welfare and a part-time Pinnacle faculty member.
Her role at the Department of Public Welfare was to provide clinical leadership to policy-making processes and to Department initiatives such as domestic violence, tobacco cessation in pregnant women, and childhood obesity, promote and assist with quality improvement efforts, and ensure the delivery of high quality, cost – effective health care within the context of Commonwealth budgetary constraints.
Dr. Poles’ range of experience also includes being a clinician at and Medical Director of Hamilton Health Center, a Federally Qualified Health Center, where she was on the “ground floor” of Medicaid Managed Care and quality improvement efforts in an underserved population.
She has also worked with Pennsylvania’s Quality Improvement Organization where she provided clinical guidance to the development of physician, hospital and long term care facility education for Medicare quality improvement initiatives, conducted peer-to-peer education on Medicare quality improvement initiatives and developed continuing medical education programs.
Dr. Poles is a native of Philadelphia. She and her late husband, Kenneth Corker, relocated to Harrisburg, PA in 1990. She received her bachelor’s degree from Franklin and Marshall College, Lancaster, PA and her Doctor of Osteopathy from the Philadelphia College of Osteopathic Medicine. She completed her residency in Internal Medicine at Bryn Mawr Hospital where she served as Chief Medical Resident. She received her Board Certification in Internal Medicine.
Dr. Poles was a Clinical Assistant Professor of Medicine at Penn State College of Medicine and Drexel University College of Medicine. She has received teaching awards from Drexel University including the Dean’s Special Award for Excellence in Clinical Teaching at Pinnacle and the Golden Apple Award.
Dr. Poles is a past president of the Dauphin County Medical Society and a member of several professional organizations including the Pennsylvania Medical Society, the Pennsylvania Osteopathic Medical Association, the Pennsylvania Osteopathic Family Physicians Society, the Christian Medical and Dental Association and the Christian Community Health Fellowship.
She was a charter Board Member of the South Central PA Sickle Cell Council, on which she served for 10 years. Subsequently she served as a physician advisor to the Council. She rejoined the board in 2016.
Dr. Poles has been a frequent participant in community and church-related activities and especially enjoys being a part of health education programs that target minority and/or underserved communities as well as the faith community. One of her passions is facilitating the integration of faith into the health care process thus caring for the whole person; mind, body and soul. Dr. Poles continues to work towards opening a faith-based community health center in Harrisburg to augment sorely needed access to primary care services in the region.
Mark Robinson is a Sourcing Specialist/Contract Manager II with Members 1st Federal Credit Union. He is responsible for cost reduction and containment while acquiring a wide range of products and services. In addition, he develops sourcing plans and specifications, solicitation requests, tactical negotiation plans and assembles sourcing teams when necessary. Mark has 10 years of experience in procurement and sourcing. In addition to his sourcing role, Mark serves on the Portfolio Review Committee and the Wellness Committee within Members 1st.
Mark also serves on the Advisory Board for the Judge/Bradley Leadership School for Credit Unions.
Mark joined Members 1st in 2008 after 5 years with the Commonwealth of PA where he served as a Commodity Specialist within the Department of General Services managing the Pharmaceutical Contract, Tobacco Supplies Contract as well as numerous others. Also, while at the Commonwealth, Mark worked on team to consolidate 23 warehouses and storerooms into 3 warehouses. His primary responsibility was space consolidation and allocation of space for the affected State Agencies.
Early in Mark’s career, he assisted in the start-up of the Pinnacle Health Behaviors Systems, Children’s Partial Hospitalization Program. As a Psychotherapist he conducted group therapy for 8-12 years experiencing various mental diagnoses’.
Family Client Representative
I am the mother of twin 19 year old sons who have Sickle Cell Disease (SCD), and a son 35 years old who has Sickle Cell Trait (SCT). Throughout the last 19 years, I have coordinated their medical care, advocated for them medically, and researched available social services.
We are native Californians and have resided in PA for 12 years. We currently reside in Lower Paxton Township.
My hope is to be a strong voice not only for my children, but for other children, adults and families struggling to have their voices heard and be able to obtain support services entitled to them. Services that do not exist for patients and families are a top priority for me.

Tyrone E. Williams
Mr. Williams is a retiree from the Commonwealth of PA, having last served in the Department of Human Services as the Director of Medical Assistance Transportation Programs. His responsibilities included full accountability for daily leadership, supervision, and management of a $140 million budget and 10 contract managers, overseeing awards totaling $200 million.
Tyrone’s civic involvement included Board President of the Hanna Education Foundation, having raised over $50,000 to support educational goals in the ages of the arts, computer study, and homework assistance.
Tyrone earned a BA in Public Affairs from Lincoln University of Pennsylvania, and a Master of Public Administration from the University of Pittsburgh.
SCPASCC Vice President
Mr. Gbadamosi was named President, Chief Executive Officer and a member of the STG Group Board of Directors in January 1999. As CEO he is responsible for the company’s vision, strategic direction and operational management.
He has more than 25 years experience in the Petroleum, Construction and Accounting industries. Previously he was Vice-President, Chief Operating Officer for Hightowers Petroleum Co; Hi-Mark Construction Group, Hi-Mark Building Group and Hi-Mark Trading Group with responsibility for day to day management of the business and organization effectiveness.
KPMG, LLC (an international accounting firm) is where he started his career as an Audit Trainee. He later joined Price Waterhouse Coopers, LLC as an Audit Manager and later worked as a Consultant holding various management positions.
Saeed serve as the President of Ohio Society of Certified Public Accountants (Miami Valley Chapter) from 2003 to 2005. He has a PhD in Finance and Accounting. He is a member of American Institute of Certified Public Accountants, Institute of Certified Management Accountants, Institute of Certified Management Accountants and Institute of Certified Financial Management.
Saeed currently services on the boards of five private companies. A conscientious results oriented professional financial manager with solid accounting background and over twenty-five years of resourceful leadership in the private and public sectors. Lived and studied in three continents; and worked in two of them.
Glenn Williams, III
Mr. Williams is a retiree from the Commonwealth of PA, having last served in the Department of Human Services as the Director of Administrative Services. His responsibilities included oversight coordination of the department’s property portfolio, critical assets and leased building agreements ($40 million annual lease payments), capital projects, maintenance projects, and guaranteed energy savings initiatives in excess of $192 million.
Other Commonwealth positions over his career included the Treasury Department’s Director of the Bureau of Contracts and Public Records, and the Auditor General’s Director of the Bureau of Public Assistance Audits. He also served as the Harrisburg City Treasurer.
Glenn earned his BS in Business Administration from the Pennsylvania State University.
His civic involvement includes volunteering as a Shelter Manager with the American Red Cross of Central PA, the Elder of Administration of the Zion Assembly Governing Board, the New City School, and the Samaritan Health Group.
Mr. Robinson founded Robinson Management Services, LLC in Harrisburg. He provides exemplary custom management advisory services in areas of Human Resource Management, Cultural Diversity Development and Implementation, as well as, individual Management Coaching to businesses and organizations in need of such services.
Previously, Mr. Robinson was Corporate Vice President, Human Resources & Administration, United Concordia Companies Inc. in Harrisburg, PA From 1996 – 2009.
Reporting directly to the CEO, he defined and directed the delivery of cost-effective human resource and administrative programs supporting United Concordia’s strategic goals.
This involved managing the entire human resources function (staffing, employee relations, training, compensation, affirmative action, and occupational health); enhancing an all-inclusive Corporate Cultural Diversity program; managing and editing corporate communication vehicles; ensuring the physical security of employees and facilities; directing corporate facility and real estate activities, while managing company community affairs efforts.
Family Client Representative
Lisa Green-Powell is a native of Harrisburg Pennsylvania and graduate from William Penn Vo-Tech School. She is the grandmother of young man who has Sickle Cell Disease and has assisted in his care since his birth.
Lisa’s lengthy involvement as an active volunteer for the South Central PA Sickle Cell Council prompted an invitation for her to serve on the Board as a client/family representative.
Her passion for those suffering from the disease and her infectious enthusiasm serve as a reminder to the Board of the impact they are capable of having throughout our geographical area.
Dr. Mosley is a small business owner and works as a consultant helping private and public industries in collaborating, partnering, and/or networking.
Shelley’s employment experience includes the American Cancer Society, Capital Region Chamber of Commerce, Capital Region Economic Development, and the Harrisburg/Hershey/Carlisle Tourism. Her enthusiastic interest in government affairs was cultivated by her experience with the Pennsylvania Department of Treasury, the PA House of Representatives, and various political campaigns.
Shelley earned a BS in Human Resource Training and Development from Georgia State University, a MPA from Walden University, and a Doctorate of Business Administration from Walden University. She is an Eastern Region Liaison for the Golden Key International Honor Society, and Senior Fellow at the Behavioral International Economic Development Think Tank, Washington, DC.
Shelley’s civic engagement includes volunteering for the Central Pennsylvania Multiple Sclerosis Society, the Bethesda Homeless Women and Children’s Shelter.
Immediate Past President
Mr. Graupera is the President of the Spanish American Civic Association, a position he has held since the founding of the organization in 1973. SACA is a community based organization that provides:

housing and neighborhood revitalization
community broadcasting services
Community Service Activities 1973 to present
Helped organize the Spanish American Civic Association and have been its Executive Director since 1973.
Organized the Centro Hispano in Lancaster, November 1973.
Opened Nuestra Clinica bilingual mental health and drug and alcohol outpatient clinic.
Developed Nuestra Clinica Residential, a Latino focused residential drug and alcohol treatment program for adult males.
During my tenure with the organization, I have overseen the creation of SACA Development Corporation- a housing development corporation dedicated to home ownership opportunities for inner city residents. SACA Development has rehabilitated over 100 single family units for sale to low and moderate income first time home buyers.
SACA Development built 40 new townhouses for sale to moderate income first time home buyers.
SACA Development facilitated the location of a credit union in the barrio as a result of an economic development venture.
SACADC is currently building 30,000 feet of commercial retail space as part of its latest neighborhood economic development venture.
I have also overseen the creation of WLCH FM, Radio Centro, a full time Spanish language educational public radio station serving the Latino community of Lancaster.
With the help of local education advocates, I helped to open La Academia Charter School in Lancaster.
As past Chairman Governor’s Advisory Commission on Latino Affairs, I had the opportunity to advocate for the needs of Latino communities across the Commonwealth.
It is an honor to work with health advocates as a member of the Board of Directors of the South Central PA Sickle Cell Council.
Dr. Herman Lawson
Dr. Herman Lawson is a native of Harrisburg and a graduate of Lincoln University. He was a Harrisburg school teacher for several years before entering medical school at Penn State University’s Milton S. Hershey Medical Center. His residency training in Family Practice was at McKeesport Hospital in McKeesport, PA. He is Board Certified in Family Medicine.
Family Client Representative
Mr. Johnson has lived with Sickle Cell Disease since 1964 and sits on the Board, representing the interests of other individuals and families served by the Council. He was featured in the November 2011 issue of the Harrisburg Magazine, passionately conveying to the readers what it is like living with this painful, incurable and life-threatening disease.
Ron credits God with his longevity and ability to do what most said he’d never be able to achieve. Aside from his work on the Council, Ronald is an active member of the St. John CME church, Harrisburg, PA, serving in numerous capacities of ministry. He is also widely recognized in the area as a community servant leader.
Some of his mayoral appointments include membership on the Public Safety Committee, Spiritual Outreach Board, Sub-Committee on Codes and the City Reinvestment Board. For the past decade he has served as chairperson of the Neighborhood Square Watch Group and was recently appointed to the South Allison Hill Strategic Planning Committee.
A devoted son, Ron is the sole caregiver for his mother and the two of them are often seen together throughout the community. His favorite Biblical passage from which he draws daily strength is Hebrews 11:1 “Now faith is the substance of things hoped for; the evidence of things not yet seen.”

Rev. Donrico Colden
Rev Colden is currently employed with the American Income Life Insurance company, assisting underinsured and uninsured families to reduce the burden on families and congregations.
Donrico has championed access to holistic care for area residents throughout his professional career, most recently as the Manager of the Spiritual Care Department, Pinnacle Health System., overseeing department staff and spiritual care volunteers. His previous experience includes having served as a Resident Chaplain in two long-term care facilities, in both Harrisburg, and Baltimore, MD.
He matriculated at the Southern Baptist Seminary/Southern Baptist Convention, and the Ecumenical Institute of Theology/St. Mary’s Seminary & University. He received his Clinical Pastoral Education at the Penn State Milton S. Hershey Medical Center.
His professional associations include President-at-Large of the Pennsylvania Society of Chaplains, Association for Clinical Pastoral Education, Center for Integration of Spirituality and Mental Health, Harrisburg Housing Authority, Mayor of Harrisburg’s Interfaith Coalition, Pennsylvania Council of Churches, Pennsylvania Psychiatric Institute, and The Arc of Dauphin County.

Willie McCoy is a retiree of the Commonwealth of PA having last served as a Revenue Field Auditor with the PA Department of Revenue.
He earned his Associates of Art degree from the Harrisburg Area Community College, and previously attended the NYC Community College where he studied accounting and business management.
He serves our Council as a representative of the Prince Hall Free and Accepted Masons of Pennsylvania.
He is a proud husband and father and resides in Harrisburg.
